Not the best plan. Experienced personal trainer Mike Duffy claims that the reason why half of the clients he works with don't lose weight is because they don't eat enough. "To stimulate their metabolism, Duffy advises his clients to eat five times a day, about every three hours," which includes two mini-meals in between three main meals. He suggests that as the day wears on, one should "eat less as the day goes on," since activity levels will decline.
